The black book
I am being very inspired by Zoe Thorogood’s amazing metanarrative/hypersigil/journal It’s Lonely, as well as Sarah van Dongen’s illustrations (I am currently taking two of her courses on Domestika). I think Sarah’s illustrations are so brilliant, and very inspiring to me because of how evocative and colorful they are without being very accurate. This is more the kind of style that I am into --I love Zoe’s too, of course, but it’s the kind of more detailed/’mastered’ (maîtrisé) style that I do not really see myself getting into. But who knows! I am still figuring my stuff out.
I am adding a few of their pictures/work here for inspiration and documentation.
Also, perhaps worth noting that these two artists work traditionally --something to keep in mind perhaps as I keep exploring Procreate? But I truly love it, and I think the interfacing with the plotter is such a fun process. Still pen and paper, just mediated.
