SEPTEMBER 14, 2024

Heyzine
flipbook
Traveler’s journal

I’ve started a new project yesterday, and as usual, I’m trying to figure out what the best format to share it is. I started a comic diary, and it is an extension of the Traveler’s Journal I’ve kept since August 2024. Here is an excerpt of the September one (incomplete of course, as we’re only halfway through september and I also started a different format) and I now use Heyzine as a way to show it.

Since my comic diary is a mix of digital drawing, writing and collage, it doesn’t translate directly to the plotter; I need to figure out that pipeline from digital collages and sketchbooks to physical ones. Curve is my best friend here once more, but the process of turning everything into paths (tracing) and then layers (for color) is, I suspect, unsustainable long term.

Unless... the notebook is digital and exist as digital files (a digital archive; this website) and the process of turning some entries/projects/volumes into booklets is a more curated one...

Things to think about. I would like to figure out a pipeline to output digital and analog booklets every month without turning it into a huge process. But perhaps it is inevitable?
